Question : Can the Ecoguard G be used for wet applications?

Answer : The connector assembly already attached to the guard is for the Makita®, Milwaukee® and Bosch® grinders.
Question : Can I attach the dust bag from the Ecoguard C on the Ecoguard G and not use a vacuum?
Answer : No, the Dust Bag cannot be used on any other Ecoguard other than the Ecoguard C. The Ecoguard C is a hybrid design and the dust is forced through the hybrid design into the dust bag without the use of a vacuum.
Question : What is the purpose of the spacers included with the Ecoguard G?
Answer : Alpha® includes a total of four spacers all with different thicknesses (2.5mm, 5mm, 7mm and 9mm) for the purpose of adjusting the grinding wheel to the perfect height when attached onto the power tool. The brushes on the Ecoguard G should make flush contact with the material and the grinding wheel should be around 1/8” above the material when attached onto the spindle using the spacers. Refer to the Ecoguard G Instruction Manual for a list of our recommendations for spacers and connectors for various manufacturers grinders.
Question : My vacuum hose keeps detaching from the Rubber Hose Connector, how can I secure the vacuum hose so it will not detach?
Answer : The Ecoguard G has one stainless steel hose band included inside the product box. Place this stainless steel hose band on the rubber hose connector, insert the vacuum hose inside the rubber hose connector and tighten the stainless steel hose band to secure the vacuum hose.
Question : What gives the Ecoguard G its rugged construction for the continuous daily heavy duty applications it performs?
Answer : The Ecoguard G is made with a polycarbonate material which has excellent physical and toughness properties for everyday use.
Question : What is the outside diameter of the hose opening of the Ecoguard G dust collector?
Answer : Outside diameter is 1-5/16” (34mm)
Question : What is the inside diameter of the Rubber Hose Connector which is supplied with the Ecoguard G?

Question : Does Alpha® sell a connector hose to fit onto the Ecoguard G?
Answer : Yes, The Flexible Connector Hose is available for purchase (Part No. 500026). The hose is 18” in length with a 1-1/4” Tapered Fitting and 2-1/4” Female Fitting. When using this hose with the Ecoguard G you need to use the Rubber Hose Connector and Stainless Steel Hose Band which is include in the box of the Ecoguard G.
Question : If I attach the Ecoguard G on my variable speed grinder, can I polish a granite bullnose without creating a dust cloud?
Answer : Yes, the Ecoguard G can be used to polish on a bullnose edge without creating a dust cloud as long as you have the
proper vacuum for the application such as the Alpha® HEPA Vacuum. Refer to your power tool owner’s manual for
setting the speed dial to the correct rpm range for the polishing pads. Below is a list of products recommended for

Question : When I attach the Half Cover onto the Ecoguard G there is a small open space, wouldn’t dust come out from this area during operation?
Answer : This small open area on the Half Cover is designed to allow the 5” grinding or polishing wheel to get close up to the wall. When the Ecoguard makes contact with the wall, the wall itself creates the vacuum seal so no dust escapes.
Question : What is the purpose of the four springs on the Ecoguard G?
Answer : The purpose of these springs is to provide the operator more flexibility on tilting the grinder and allowing the brushes to remain flat on the surface continuing to keep the vacuum seal so no dust escapes.
