Marble Profile Wheel

The Alpha® Marble Profile Wheel is designed to profile and cut marble tile in one pass, unlike most profile wheels that only perform the profile action. The 6” wheel, which fits tub and tile saws, has been a popular item with tile installers for years. They have found it to be the ideal tool for cutting and profiling tile baseboards. The long life and smooth cutting action are two other reasons for its popularity. The wheel utilizes the same high quality diamonds and matrix best suited for wet cutting marble and agglomerated marble tile. Use the Alpha® Marble Profile Wheel to cut and profile in one pass to save time, money and reduce waste.

Question : What is the life expectancy of the Alpha® Marble Profile Wheel?

Answer : Due to the many different types of marble, it is impossible to accurately gauge the life of this wheel. However, we have been told by many satisfied customers that the life is surprisingly long.

Question : What size material will this wheel profile?

Answer : This wheel is designed to cut and profile 3/8” marble tile. Do not try to profile anything over 3/8" thick.

Question : Can I use the Alpha® Marble Profile Wheel on hard materials such as granite or porcelain?

Answer : No. The Alpha® Profile Wheel for Marble is constructed with electroplated diamonds on the outer edge of the wheel. If hard material such as granite or porcelain is used, the outer edge will wear faster and the life of the wheel will be very short. To create a 3/8” profile on granite or porcelain we recommend using the Alpha® Profiler Series.

Question : Can the Alpha® Marble Profile Wheel be used dry?

Answer : No. The Alpha® Marble Profile Wheel for Marble must be used WET. Using this wheel dry will cause the electroplated diamonds to overheat and shorten the life of this wheel.

Question : Can this wheel be used on a hand-held grinder?

Answer : No. This wheel is designed to be used on stationary machines such as the Alpha® AWS-110 Wet Stone Cutter.

Question : Will the Alpha® Marble Profile Wheel fit onto the Alpha® AWS-125 Wet Stone Cutter?

Answer : No. The Alpha® Marble Profile Wheel has a 20mm arbor and the AWS-125 Wet Stone Cutter has a 7/8” arbor flange size. Alpha® recommends using the Alpha® Marble Profile Wheel together with the AWS-110 Wet Stone Cutter which has a 20mm arbor flange size.
