Question : What materials can be cut using the Alpha® Vortex for Granite blade?
Answer : The Alpha® Vortex blade is designed to be used on granite and engineered stone.
Question : The Alpha® Vortex for Granite is a dry cutting blade, can I use this blade for wet application?
Answer : Yes. Wet cutting will generally increase blade life and will keep harmful dust (Silica) out of the air.
Question : What sizes of the Alpha® Vortex for Granite blades are available?
Answer : These blades are available in 4” and 5” diameters.
Question : What is the cutting edge rim height of the Alpha® Vortex 4” and 5” blades?
Answer : 4” Vortex (7mm) and 5” Vortex (6mm)
Question : What is the spindle size required for use of the BAH-5/8 adapter?
Answer : Your power tool needs to have a 5/8”-11 threaded spindle for use of this adapter.
Question : Does Alpha® offer other spindle sizes for the BAH and FAH adapters?
Answer : Yes. Other spindle sizes are available. Please contact your dealer or Alpha® directly to learn more about these other thread sizes.
Question : Can I use the Alpha® Vortex for Granite blade on my polishing tool?
Answer : No. The RPM speeds of polishers are too slow. Diamond blades are recommended for use on high-speed angle grinders rated for the blade diameter being used.
Question : What applications are the Alpha® Vortex for Granite blades designed for?
Answer : The Alpha® Vortex blades are designed for flush cutting and making 90 degree inside corners. Other cutting applications such as top mount sink bowl cut-outs when you need to cut the material between the drilled core holes are ideal for this blade.
Question : Can I use the Alpha® Vortex blade without the BAH-5/8 adapter?
Answer : No. The Alpha® Vortex blades must always be used together with the BAH adapter. Alpha® does not recommend mounting the Vortex blade directly onto the flange of a power tool without the BAH adapter due to the countersunk holes drilled within the core of the blade.
