Alpha® introduces a Wet Core Drill Bit for CNC Machines and Radial Arm workstations. This Core Bit comes with a 1/2” Gas Thread, designed for the tool holder. The diamonds and matrix have been selected to minimize blow-out at the bottom of the stone, since most CNC Router fabrication is done upside-down. This new Core Bit utilizes the superior technology that has made the Alpha® Wet and Dry Core Bits the best in the industry.

Question : What materials can be drilled using the Alpha® Wet Core Bit for CNC?

Answer : The Alpha® Wet Core Bits for CNC are designed to be used on granite, engineered stone and porcelain slab. We do not recommend using this core bit for marble.

Question : What granite classifications are the Alpha® Wet Core Bit for CNC designed for?

Answer : The Alpha® Wet Core Bits for CNC are designed to perform well on all granite classifications (1– 4).

Question : What is the recommended RPM range for using the Alpha® Wet Core Bit for CNC?

Answer : The core bit should be used in the range of 2,000 – 2,500 RPM.

Question : What feed rate is recommended for using the Alpha® Wet Core Bit for CNC?

Answer : Recommended feed rate is 38–45mm/min (1.5”–1.75”/min)

Answer : The core bit is designed for drilling faucet-mounting holes in countertops and vanities as well as making pilot holes for the CNC finger bits.

Question : What is the reason for the two holes in the body of the core bit?

Answer : These holes are called “Reduction Pressure Holes”. The purpose of these holes is to release the water pressure build-up within the core during drilling applications to minimize blow-outs on the bottom of the stone.

Question : Can I use the Alpha® Wet Core Bit for CNC on electric and pneumatic polishers?

Answer : No. The Alpha® Wet Core Bit for CNC are designed only for CNC Machinery. The threads of the CNC Core Bit are 1/2” GAS Male thread.

Question : The Alpha® Wet/Dry Core Bits for hand-held applications have vacuum brazed diamonds on the outer core, why don’t the Alpha® Wet Core Bits for CNC have these?

Answer : Due to the precision of CNC machinery, there is no need for side protection on the CNC Core Bit.
