Tuck Point

The Alpha® Tuck Point Wheel is specifically designed for brick re-pointing and flash installation. This dry cutting wheel fits on 4”, 4-1/2” and 7” grinders. Masons and brick re-pointers will find the Alpha® Tuck Point Wheel to be very aggressive and long lasting. The Alpha® Tuck Point Wheel is segmented with a very hard bond that resists the abrasive mortar commonly used in brick laying. The Alpha® Tuck Point Wheel simplifies brick re-pointing and flash installations.

Question : The Alpha® Tuck Point blade is a dry blade, can it be used wet?

Answer : Yes. Wet cutting will generally increase the life of the blade and help keep harmful dust (Silica) out of the air.

Question : Can I use the Alpha® Tuck Point blade on the Alpha® AWS-125 Wet Stone Cutter?

Answer : Yes. Only the 4” Alpha® Tuck Point blade will fit onto the AWS-125 Wet Stone Cutter since this particular blade’s arbor is 7/8” to 5/8” and is compatible with the AWS-125 flange.

Question : What is the blade thickness of the Alpha® Tuck Point blades?

Answer : The segment thickness of these blades is 1/4”.

Question : Can I use the Alpha® Tuck Point blade to cut channels into granite for reinforcement rods?

Answer : This application is not recommended. The Alpha® Tuck Point bond is designed for cutting soft abrasive material (mortar) and may not be suitable for granite. Alpha® recommends using the Alpha® Hot-Rod blade for Granite for cutting channels for reinforcement rods.

Question : What size diameter blades does Alpha® offer for the Tuck Point blades?

Answer : The Alpha® Tuck Point blade is available in 4” diameter.

Question : What is the purpose of Alpha® Tuck Point blades?

Answer : The purpose of Alpha® Tuck Point blades is to remove the deteriorating mortar from the joints of masonry walls. This is a common maintenance task for brick masonry.
