Question : How long does it last compared with a resin fiber sanding disc?
Answer : In the case of stone applications compared with silicon carbide grits, VFlex Flexible sanding disc may last up to 50 to 60 times longer than the amount of a resin fiber sanding disc. However, a resin fiber sanding disc may decrease the performance quickly, so that you can get much more productivity and efficiency by using VFlex Disc.
Question : Can I use it with water to eliminate dust?
Answer : Yes, you can use VFlex Flexible Sanding Disc with water to keep the dust down. It also enhances the performance and life span if used as a wet application.
Question : How do we eliminate dust during the application?
Answer : Alpha® offers the Ecoguard G which will retrofit on most industrial grade 4.5” and 5” variable-speed grinders. You can also use the HEPA vacuum in conjunction with Vflex Flexible Sanding Disc and Ecoguard to enjoy a virtually dust free grinding application. When you use the vacuum, make sure to check the material, as some metal alloy powders are combustible.
Question : Why doesn’t Alpha® offer a square arbor option for use on the Ecogrinder?
Answer : VFlex Flexible Sanding Disc is used at a slight angle so that it is not most suitable for flat sanding on the large surface. It is also a sanding disc so that the Max RPM of the Ecogrinder is too fast for VFlex Flexible Sanding Disc.
Question : What kind of tool can I use with VFlex Flexible Sanding Disc?
Answer : You can use VFlex Flexible Sanding Disc on Sander, Polisher and Variable Speed Angle Grinder when used below 5,000 rpm. You can use the original flange & lock nut with supplied wrench, or simply get a VFlex Disc with the disposable zinc hub with 5/8”-11 female thread, so that you can spin on and off using the spindle lock.
