Answer : The Alpha® AWP-158 is recommended for wet and dry polishing, wet core drilling, profiling and grinding.
Question : What is the warranty for this AWP-158?
Answer : Alpha Professional Tools® warrants the AWP-158 against defects in material and workmanship for a period of 180 days from the date of original retail purchase (proof of purchase required for warranty repairs).
Be sure to include a copy of your original sales receipt. Our obligation assumed under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of parts without charge. The warranty does not apply to tool accessories. The warranty for repairs is 30 days on the parts and labor that were repaired.
Question : What shall I do if my AWP-158 breaks down and I need to complete the job immediately?
Answer : This largely depends upon the time frame involved. The first step would be to check and replace the carbon brushes. Alpha Professional Tools® has two warranty service centers and can turn your tool repair around in a 3-5 day period. Please contact Alpha® for information or send tool to your nearest regional repair center. For warranty repairs please include a copy of the sales receipt.

Question : Does the AWP-158 have a maintenance program?
Answer : Alpha Professional Tools® does not offer any type of maintenance program. However, we do recommend periodic replacement of the carbon brushes for extended service life. If you should hear or detect an unusual noise during the operation of the AWP-158, we recommend that you send it into our repair department for some preventative maintenance.

Question : The GFCI is tripping frequently. What I can I do?
Answer : If the GFCI is tripping frequently, there could be several problems.
1. Water is getting inside the polisher. Dry the tool with compressed air and try to prevent water from getting into the polisher.
2. The voltage drops due to sharing the same power source in a work area.
3. Too much force is applied to the tool. Back-off on the pressure.
4 The outlet may be loose. Make sure the power cord plug is tightly inserted in the power outlet.
5. Contact Alpha Professional Tools® tool repair department for further advice.

Question : Can I use my AWP-158 as a wet cutting tool with a diamond blade?
Answer : No. The AWP-158 only has a 3,000 no load RPM rating. This is not enough RPM for cutting applications with a diamond blade. It is unsafe to use the AWP-158 as a cutting tool. Do not attempt to cut with the AWP-158.
Question : Can I use my AWP-158 for dry polishing applications?
Answer : Yes. The AWP-158 can be used for dry polishing applications. Use only dry polishing abrasives such as PVA Quick Change, Sandpaper or other dry polishing pads that can be used under 4,000 RPM.
Question : What is the RPM of the AWP-158?
Answer : The Alpha® AWP-158 has a no load RPM of 3,000.
Question : What is the largest diameter accessory that the AWP-158/AWP-214 will accept?
Answer : The AWP-158 will accept accessories up to 5” Backer pads, etc . Do not attempt to use accessories larger than 5" for safety reasons. In addition, large accessories require more torque than the AWP-158 can provide. Operating the AWP-158 under these conditions will result in overheating failure.
Question : Can I use the AWP-158 for drilling applications such as faucet holes?
Answer : Yes. The AWP-158 can be used with Alpha® Core Bits to drill faucet mounting holes. We recommend using the provided C-Handle attachment and a template. Allow the bit to due the work, excessive pressure will shorten the life of the tool.
Question : How many gallons of water does the Alpha® AWP-158 use per minute?
Answer : The AWP-158/AWP-214 has a throughput of 1.5 gallons per minute with the water valve fully open.
Question : What is the spindle thread size of the Alpha AWP-158?
Answer : The spindle thread size is 5/8”-11 for our 110V tools in the USA, and 14mm for our 220v tools sold outside the USA.
Question : What is the Flat Polishing Caster utilized for?
Answer : The flat polishing caster is designed to stabilize the tool when performing applications such as surface touch up or flat surface polishing.
