Alpha® Sandpaper discs consist of a waterproof hook and loop backed material combined with a silicon carbide abrasive, which is the perfect combination for use on marbles and softer types of natural stone. Marble fabricators find Alpha® Sandpaper to be effective and durable. Tile contractors find Alpha® Sandpaper to be very adaptable to onsite work and easy to use. Restoration workers can polish wide areas quickly without difficulty. Alpha® Sandpaper resists clogging when used wet, thus extending the life of the disc. The discs can be used dry if necessary and are very durable. The hook and loop backing makes disc changes simple. Silicon Carbide is the abrasive of choice for sanding and polishing marble, travertine, terrazzo and onyx. Alpha® Sandpaper can also be used to polish glass, metal and wood. When used with our standard backer pads or the GV5000 backer pad, Alpha® Sandpaper is sure to give you the best results. For an extra high glossy finish, use the Alpha® Felt Wheel with a buffing compound to finish the polishing process.

Question : On what materials can I use the Alpha® Sandpaper?

Answer : Alpha® Sandpaper can be used for marble, onyx, travertine, terrazzo, limestone and ceramic tile.

Question : Can I use the Alpha® Sandpaper on granite?

Answer : Alpha® does not recommend using sandpaper to polish granite. For granite polishing we recommend our Alpha® Ceramica or Ceramica EX polishing discs.

Question : Can the Alpha® Sandpaper be used dry?

Answer : Yes. However, the special advantages of long life, dust control and high-quality finish may be defeated by the elimination of water.

Question : Can the paper be re-used?

Answer : Yes. The Alpha® Sandpaper can be reused until it reaches the end of its life.

Question : What sizes are available for the Alpha® Sandpaper?

Answer : Alpha® Sandpaper is available in 4” and 5”.

Question : How does the product come packaged?

Answer : Alpha® Sandpaper comes in case packs of 50 sheets for all 7 grits or as an assortment pack. Also, for smaller jobs, we now offer 5 packs of each grit. See specifications chart for part numbers.

Question : What type of tool is recommended for the wet use of Alpha® Sandpaper?

Answer : We suggest the Alpha® VSP-320 or AIR-680 center water-feed polishers for WET USE applications.

Question : What type of power tool do you recommend for dry polishing?

Answer : Alpha® provides backer pads for the Makita GV5000 Sander/Polisher. These special 8mm threaded backer pads are available in 4” and 5” and used together with our Sandpaper will achieve a successful polish on your material for dry use applications.

Question : How do we attach the sandpaper to these tools?

Answer : Alpha® Sandpaper has hook & loop backing which attaches to our Alpha® Backer pads for quick and easy changes.
